Ecuador has 185,643 cases of covid-19; deaths in the context of the pandemic amount to 13,201

Ecuador has registered 767 new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours across the country, as reported this Sunday, November 22, 2020 by the Ministry of Health in its daily report, which collects data until 8 a.m. today ‘hui, and that determines that 185,643 people have been infected with the new coronavirus in the country, since the first case was reported last February.

The number of deaths in the context of the pandemic reached 13,201. 8,804 confirmed deaths with the disease and 4,397 deaths, probably with the virus, that is, they could not be confirmed, but are linked to respiratory failure. According to official data, in the past 24 hours, 62 deaths have increased.

The city in Ecuador with the highest number of covid-19 cases is Quito, with 61,491 infections. Guayaquil follows with 16,369 cases.

According to figures provided by the government, 620,970 samples were taken in the country for RT-PCR testing.

Which provinces have the highest infection record?

Pichincha is the province most affected by covid-19, 66,827 are recorded
case. Guayas is in second place with 23,656 infections. Then there is Manabí, with 12,477 cases. They are followed by Azuay with 11,383; El Oro, 7,073; Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, 5,452; Esmeraldas, 4,557; and Los Ríos, 4,272.

Pichincha concentrates the highest number of deaths due to covid-19 in Ecuador

8,804 people have died confirmed by the affectation of covid-19, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus throughout Ecuador. Of this total, Pichincha is the province where the most deaths occurred, as it reported 1,884.
