Two motorcyclists from the gendarmerie were seriously injured this Wednesday near Arles after an accident caused by a vehicle that refused to submit to a check, said the gendarmerie. Their vital prognoses, however, are not engaged.
About sixty gendarmes were leading an anti-crime operation north of Arles. A vehicle refused to comply, two motorcyclists from the motorized platoon of Nîmes therefore pursued it, further details the gendarmerie, confirming information from the local news site Gard objective.
The vehicle then struck a heavy vehicle which deviated from its path and itself struck the two gendarmes, on the bridge which separates the Gard from the Bouches-du-Rhône between Fourques and Arles. The driver of the truck was also seriously injured.
The initial vehicle is still on the run, still indicates the gendarmerie.
