French extreme athlete Vince Reffet, known as ‘The Bird Man’, died in a training session on November 17, 2020. This was reported by Jetman Dubai, the official site that brings together extreme athletes who practice this discipline in the air.
Reffet was known for his spectacular feats in the sky. The first in 2016 when he jumped from the tallest tower in the world, the Burj Khalifa, which measures 828 meters, and is located in Dubai. A year later, he was also heard because he entered a moving plane.
Other of his exploits were: flying over the Alps, the English Channel, the Grand Canyon and others accompanied by planes such as an Airbus 380 from Emirates Airlines.
The spokesperson for the agency Jetman Dubai, Abdullah ben Habtour, in his message announcing the death of the Reffet, assured that he had died during the training and that he felt “an unimaginable sadness”.
The accident happened at the Jetman company training ground. According to official sources, the causes of the incident are still under investigation.
